My uncle, Wilbur O'NEIL, born 14 Aug 1915 in Hutchinson, Reno, KS, died 2 Feb 1985 in Hutchinson, Reno, KS. Married 22 May 1953 Hutchinson, Reno, KS to Wilma Schultz. He was a Sgt., served with Co F, 339th Inf. in Italy.
Was captured in Italy, May 12, 194? and was in a German prisoner of war camp, Stalag No. 1. (I am sorry to say that is all I know, maybe this will spur me on to find more details.)

His sister (my aunt) Nella O'NEIL born 18 May 1909 in Hutchinson, Reno, KS, died 25 Dec 1991 in Anaheim, Orange, CA, buried South NV Veterns Memorial Cemetery, Boulder, Clark, NV. Married 9 Aug 1959 Las Vegas, Clark, NV to Harry James Hamrick. Enlisted in the WAC, 28 Aug 1944, entered active service 4 Sep 1944, left USA 27 May 1945; arrived Scotland 3 Jun 1945, left Europe 29 May 1947, arrived USA 7 Jun 1947.

1301st ASU WAC DET, telephone operator (Germany). Decorations: Europena-African-Middle Eastern Medal; Army of Occupation Medal (Germany); Good Conduct Medal; and World War II Victory Medal. I have registered in the Womens Memorial in Arlington Natl Cem.
